- About us
Our Founding Story
Vijana Revival Catalysts (VRC) is a dynamic, youth-led, faith-based nonprofit organization transforming lives in Uganda and the United States.
Our Founding Story
Our story began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when a small group of five young people gathered at Jerry Lukeka’s home seeking support, connection, and hope. What started as a humble meeting soon evolved into a growing movement centered on empowerment, purpose, and community.
The journey is deeply rooted in the lived experiences of our founder, Jerry Lukeka, who fled the Democratic Republic of Congo as a teenager and went on to teach English to fellow refugee youth. His resilience and passion to uplift others shaped the foundation of VRC. Today, that small beginning has grown into a movement impacting over 2,000 young people annually across Uganda, helping them discover purpose, develop leadership, and create lasting change in their communities.
Who we are and what we stand for
We stand for empowering the next generation of transformational leaders by helping young people build meaningful relationships, discover their purpose, and grow into individuals who positively impact their communities through service, integrity, and compassion, guided by a Christ-centered approach.
We believe in creating a diverse and inclusive environment where every young person, regardless of background, is given the opportunity to lead a purposeful life—one that is rooted in community, driven by values, and focused on making a lasting difference in the world.
